Trout in the Classroom
The 5th grade students are taking part in "Trout in the Classroom" which is sponsored by Nebraska Game and Parks for the 4th year in a row. In early January we received trout eggs and have watched them grow from alevins with yolk sacs, to fry. In late April we will take a field trip to Ak-Sar-Ben Aquarium to release our trout into a pond there. We have learned about water chemistry, conservation of our planet, and animal survival traits through this amazing program. The students have become fish technicians to help our fish survive and thrive in the tank that is in our classroom. Stop by and see our fish friends.
