College Admissions Requirements

Open: All HS graduates accepted up to school capacity.

Examples: Wayne State College, Peru State College, Chadron State College

ACT: 17-20

Liberal: Some freshmen accepted from lower half of HS graduating class

ACT: 18-21

Traditional: All accepted freshmen are in the top 50% of their HS graduating class

Examples: UNK, UNO, UNL

ACT: 20-23

Selective: Majority of accepted freshmen are in the top 25% of their HS graduating class

Examples: Creighton, Doane, Nebraska Wesleyan, Hastings College, Midland University

ACT: 22-27

Highly Selective: Majority of accepted freshmen are in the top 10% of their HS graduating class

Examples: Duke, Stanford, Yale, Notre Dame

ACT: 27-31

NCAA OR NAIA

Student Athletes who want to continue in a collegiate sport must apply to the NCAA Clearinghouse or the NAIA Clearinghouse. This is based on your college’s division. To find out more or register see the links below.
